vehicles for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

One of Playmates' most successful line of boys toys is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and a while back I was asked by them to design some vehicles for the TMNT action figures.
Of the 3 I designed only 2 of them went to production, but they were all fun to work on and turned out pretty cool.

The first is a TMNT motorcycle.
Here are the initial rough sketches exploring some various options;

We chose a refined combination of the above and defined most of the basic elements. I came up with an opening fairing that shot missiles.   Next was fleshing out the details with seemingly cobbled together junk parts, and adding some battle scars, for that TMNT touch. Here is that detailed exploration;

Some last tweaks going into the final design and presentation rendering;

The armored truck was next, and a blast to work on.  There was more to work with in terms of features, design elements, overall play.  The initial sketches I developed explored some of those James Bond type gadgets that pop out for battle or transform.

Some even incorporated a smaller vehicle that broke out of the trucks' front end;

Here is the final rendered version;

And finally, here are the vehicles as produced by Playmates;
